human behavior: the anya zone

Resources

This here is a sample site. It will show you the do's and don'ts of a great writer's resource for BtVS Guild Wannabes, and for the rest of you, it'll give you pointers on how to create a pretty damn excellent fanfiction archive with extras.

Okay, so you're asking me: Jen, what's this resource section and why is it separate from the Anya section? Well, it doesn't have to be, but I tend to use this section for resources every guild site and writer's resource needs, not just zone subject-centric stuff. So what would that include, by Guild requirements?

Easy-peasy: a list of beta readers (5 for minor zones, 10 for the majors), and a list of mailing lists and archives focused on your zone subject (sounds harder than it is: go look at Sonja Marie's links and at yahoogroups and you'll find a bunch of mailing lists.)

But there SHOULD BE MORE, mostly because it's not that hard to do. You're doing this to provide a resource, so provide resources. Have essays about writing here. Have essays about fanfiction and the BtVS fic community here. Have a good comprehensive links page that has information about magic, demons, fighting, sex, California, Brit-slang, capitalism--any subject that your zone subject might have interest in.

As mentioned previously, you could also put a fanart section here, or screencaps, or whatever you feel is a "resource" for the subject of your archive. Be creative! It can only help give you a distinctive feel and make you a helpful, wanted place to be.
